Hernandez is found guilty.  Wonder if he'll still be a tight end in prison.

I'm just amazed that someone like Hernandez would do something like that with all that he had going for him, and he had the kind of gall that made him think he'd get away with murder.

By the way, Lester Munson posted a good article detailing the good work the prosecution did in obtaining the guilty verdict.

The guy is a thug.  He's been one for some time.  A smug thug.  His arrogance permeated the courtroom.  He practically convicted himself with his demeanor.

I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on tv, but I was "shocked" that his lawyer pulled the argument out of his a$$ in summation that Hernandez was present when Odin was killed but didn't actually do the killing.  I know that was to introduce doubt, but, if I was a juror, my take would have been, this thug belongs in prison for life.

I'm a little surprised, JR, that they haven't blamed the NFL for brain damage.  Maybe that will be the appeal.

Yeah the jurors said exactly that after the trial.

Actually after reading that article, I kind of borderline wonder if Hernandez's lawyers didn't want to see him get away with it either.  I know that's not what a lawyer professionally should be doing, but still . . .

Yeah, I saw that in the article, JR.  I am SO smart I said it before reading the article.

Unlike Jacey, I still have a lot of respect for Jes' legal take on things.  If he comments on this let me know.

Glad he was convicted. he'll now stand trial for a double murder committed earlier. Just confess Aaron and safe the spectacle and costs. Regarding the defense admitting he was there etc, an attorney posted a comment to the deadspin thread that makes some sense:

"I think the defense had to concede he was there, because if he wasn’t, it meant that the was the most unlucky motherf*cker in the history of the universe. All evidence pointed to the fact that he was there, and if he wasn’t and he didn’t have anything to do with it at ALL, you’re left with no explanation as to why he got rid of a gun, got rid of a pair of sweet Air Jordans, and other important evidence. The only explanation that doesn’t put him directly in the soup is “he was there but he had no idea it was going to happen, was shocked when it did, and afterward tried to help out his friends”. That’s a crime, but it ain’t murder, and had the jury wanted to believe it they could have."

looked like a night both Bulls/BHawks would get thrashed, but after 2 periods Hawks have tied it up, and Bulls are up late.

The Hawks sat their starters for much of the 2nd half while Thibs played Butler 40 minutes and Gasol 38. Now the Bulls are on the same side of the playoff bracket as Cleveland.
