I often wonder if Facebook and Twitter were around when I was in college if I would have been let into medical school.

After promising that he would re-sign Brandon Saad, Stan Bowman has just traded him to Columbus. I hope everyone enjoyed the last Cup because that is what it is going to be.

Saad was looking for 6 years, $6.5 AAV.  It sounds like the Blackhawks had to choose between him and TT.

Teraveinen makes nothing. Not sure what he has to do with it.

If you sign Saad for 6 years, TT would be a free agent sometime in there.

TT wouldn't be unrestricted for 8 years, and we don't even know if he's going to produce.

The league really has problems if a 22-yo who is five years from UFA can demand those figures and force his way out.

Rumor is he had an offer sheet coming tomorrow for that amount.  It was either trade him, take a 1st,2nd and 3rd or make the cap unworkable.

I heard that. Teams are nuts.

Would seem to indicate that Sharp/Bickell/Versteeg close to untradeable.

I'd rather have the draft picks.  I didn't like anyone they got back.  Seems like he could have gotten more for him.

Re: the Saad trade, Marko Dano is supposedly a very talented player and the key to the Hawks not being robbed in the deal. Anisimov is a solid player. Big problems still loom. They need to move Bickell and probably Versteeg. If they can, I'd hold on to Sharp who is due to bounce back from a subpar season. They're also going to need to replace Oduya and missing out on Mike Reilly over the weekend was a killer. All that said, their supposed interest in Barret Jackman is nauseating and would test my allegiance for any duration he would be on the roster.

Not totally shocked that Saad is moved, still I felt he would be a Blackhawk . Dano looks to be Saad-like although smaller & lighter, skill set is very promising...we'll have to wait and see.Oduya is exploring free agency...heard Bickell may be heading to Boston...

I'd probably move Sharp as well, if possible.  He'll be 34, and his best days are behind him.
