Greg Schiano is currently concerned with the climate of the Tennessee fan base and the reaction towards reports of his contract being finalized at Tennessee. The deal may not get finalized.

The thing to be concerned about now is whoever they bring in everyone knows is going to be the second or third choice.  That's how you wind up with coaches like Derek Dooley.

That AD really ought to be fired right away.  It doesn't sound like they made much of an effort to get Chip Kelly in, and someone obviously didn't do their homework vetting Schiano and his apparent concealing of Jerry Sandusky's crimes before it getting this far with him.  What a fiasco.

Yeah I don't think I've seen that before either.

And I never thought I'd see the day UT fans would almost welcome back Lane Kiffin with open arms, but it seems like the Schiano near-hire did that too.

This isn't really just having people say no to you.  This is a mess and it might put the AD's job at risk.  Nobody is going to want to go a place with that much turmoil.  Kiffin might be a best case for the Vols.  I had no clue about the Penn State issues with Schiano, I wonder if he can keep his job with OSU?

Closest I can remember to this is when ND fired O'Leary after a weak for puffing up his resume and ended up with Ty.  ND background screens now take weeks to get a hire approved.

Maybe Peyton had a change of heart with Schiano after that was over with, but I'm surprised he'd be on board with a decision like that.

There’s a little bit of Twitter buzz re: a private plane flying back and forth between Oxford and Boca Raton.

Oxford, of course, is Ole Miss. Boca is FAU.
