After UT pays the Schiano buyout, they will be lucky to get Maryville’s coach...

No contract only a MOU. Fiasco.

They were in a good spot till UF needed a coach.

Depending on what is in a MOU it might be a legally enforceable contract.

Les Miles is a name that has fallen off everyone's radar, hasn't he?

Nashville radio is ripping what happened to Schiano this morning, which I don't really listen to that much.  Pretty decent point but Schiano was talked about for a while even from their callers as a decent possibility all week last week, and there wasn't anything mentioned about Penn State until yesterday.

This has got to be one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen.

I wonder what would have happened if they named Schiano on Tuesday or Wednesday instead of the exact same day Florida announced Dan Mullen.  I wonder if there would have been as much of an uproar.

All in all, still a major F up from the UT AD.

If John Gruden or Chip Kelly had the same Penn State background, these people wouldn't say a word. This is the same football program that just had to settle for multimillions in a **** coverup case. These people don't care about having a good person as the coach. They just want a good coach and Schiano is not that.

I didn't know about Penn State, but what I seemed to recall is the anti-victory formation crap when he was at Tampa Bay and then there were reports of him being a bit abusive with the Rutgers players.  Frankly, I put him in the same class of coaches with Pelini and Callahan.  Good results but not a whole lot of friends along the way.

Yeah that's where Schiano rubbed me the wrong way.  That anti-victory formation thing was ridiculous.

He would have been a C grade hire for sure even before he got ran out.

I wont lie.

My anger yesterday had nothing to do with the Penn State stuff.

It was because we hired a shitty coach.

Problem is UT fan's think they are a class A program when they are not even in the top 5 in their own conference. I am sure the AD vetted other candidates and then went after the guy he felt he could sign. There was no way Mullen was going to UT when UF was available as a job, he has ties to UF. Kelly was signed for a fairly low price contract so obviously was not a target for UT.  It also appears there are bigger spenders looking for coaches in Nebraska and Texas A&M, that relegates you to an also ran coach like Schiano.

JR- Hasn't Schiano denied all knowledge of the Sandusky stuff? To my knowledge, he is not connected to that creep or what he did, only that he worked at PSU at the time
