Of course he has denied it. They all have. However, there is tons of evidence that his behavior was fairly common knowledge and nobody did a thing. maybe he was one of the few guys who was there and managed to see or hear nothing but that seems very unlikely.

JR- Hasn't Schiano denied all knowledge of the Sandusky stuff? To my knowledge, he is not connected to that creep or what he did, only that he worked at PSU at the time

The only thing connecting him was Mike McQueary's testimony in 2015 that another assistant told him that Schiano told the assistant he witnessed a ****

Who knows at this point?

But the paper boy and his sister's baby sitter denied it, too.

I think credence was given to it, as it appeared that McQueary was fairly credible.

It's hard (maybe impossible) to believe anyone on Paterno's staff didn't know what was going on. Half the school seems to have known about it.

For me, the big red flag was when Sandusky, reputed to be the best linebacker coach in the country, retired and nobody, but nobody, particularly Paterno tried to talk him out of it.  As a matter of fact, it was reported by the University along with the fact that Prof Jenkins got a hair cut and a freshman girl has a really bad cold.  There are stories that Sandusky quit when he was told he would NEVER be head coach even when Papa quit.  Perhaps even by Papa.  Why?  Too many coincidences; too many curiosities.

I cant say anything you all have said is wrong.

All I will add is we consistently add top 5-10 recruiting classes so I know the talent is there and we should have no problem paying enough to attract a solid coach.

Whether its Kiffin,Cutcliffe,Sumlin,Norvell,or Martin somebody's looking for a payday.

As far as how good we are. No one is saying we're Alabama or Georgia but nobody else in the SEC is that special.

A good hire in the next few days will keep the football program in solid 8-9 win standing but there still may be problems in the AD.

Its looking like Tee Martin and that will unite the fanbase. Will we be national title contenders? Probably not but people will still buy tickets and be happy with 8 win seasons and smoking big 10 teams in mediocre bowl games and if he's good we get him for the next 20 years.

From 2010-2017 they only had 3 top 10 classes (last was 2015)and they years they did they had 32,30, and 27 recruits and comprised 3 Five star, 41 4 star and 41 3 star recruits.  Alabama's last 3 recruiting classes have 15 5 star, 46 4 star, 16 3 star recruits.  There is a huge talent gap.

Hopefully Martin will be great if it's him, but they probably would be better off with Schiano if there wasn't the revolt.  Martin's a better pick to go with than Cutcliffe though.  He's probably as good as anyone to stop the bleeding at this point.

Still, what a badly handled coaching search.

I never said we were Alabama and if we're talking about a huge talent gap with them then we're talking about every team in America but about 5.

Exactly correct when it comes to procuring new talent.  Like they used to say about Notre Dame, they don't recruit, they select.

3 top 10 classes in 8 years isn't consistently top 5 or top 10 and those 3 top 10 classes where due entirely to numbers not the quality of the class.  There is a large talent gap between Tennessee and other programs.
