Here is a picture of the pull rope.

Pretty easy to see why he and his team were freaked out about it.

Growing up in California in a multiracial neighborhood where I was peppered in the 50's and 60's by tv Westerns, I associated nooses with cattle rustlers and mobs eager for vengeance on gunslingers.   There were Westerns on up to 3 and 4 every night.  Wagon Train, Bonanza, The Virginian, Gunsmoke, Wanted Dead or Alive, Have Gun Will Travel, Bat Masterson, Wyatt Earp, Johnny Yuma, Rawhide, Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid, plus the whole stable of Warner Brothers: Cheyenne, Maverick, Sugarfoot, and some I've forgotten.   Along with this, we had old Gene Autry and Roy Rogers movies, not to mention John Wayne and the spaghetti Westerns.   I lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Nebraska before coming to Illinois.  I was in my 40's before associating nooses and lynching with African Americans.  Like I said, you lynched horse thieves and cattle rustlers and murderers not Black people.  It was a rude awakening and a really sad time in our history.

The whole situation makes little sense. The rope had been there since last year prior to Wallace randomly drawing the stall. That means others had seen it and said nothing at any point, and nobody could have known he was going to end up with that specific stall. Also, if one is looking to harass Wallace, why go to the trouble of putting the rope into a functional form on the garage door when a far easier, quicker, and less ambiguous way would be to simply toss the rope near Wallace's belongings or even on or in his car?

Maybe it looked like a noose. Things are little tense right now. It was investigated and there wasn’t anything to it.

5.3% of NBA players tested positive for COVID-19.

Good Great news for JR and me!  Fox never did learn proper camera placement around the greens.   Joe Buck and their announcers did an abysmal job.  The NBC personnel will be able to tell us where an errant shot landed instead of nothing but silence from the Fox crew.

NBC gets U.S. Open as Fox gets out of contract, report says

Agreed.  Fox' golf coverage is bloody awful.

Oh yeah that is some great news!  Kind of surprising the USGA would just let Fox out of its contract and give up half the revenues they were set to receive on the deal.  Then again it's also surprising they apparently signed a contract that allowed them to move the US Open to FS1 if Fox wanted.

Now if only CBS and NBC would forget the terrible idea of splitting the screen between live golf action and commercials.  There are always gaps that can be used if something worthwhile happened during the break.

Just rewatching some of The Last Dance tonight.

One thing I don’t get, when things got to the point in that last season where Krause said Phil Jackson wouldn’t be back and in turn MJ said he wouldn’t be back unless Jackson was the coach, why in the hell didn’t Reinsdorf just fire Krause and bring Phil and MJ back?

Krause did do some good things to build the team, but when it comes down to it, he’s not nearly as valuable to the organization as the greatest player and possibly the greatest coach of all-time.

I’m sure that befuddled all the hard core Bulls fans back in ‘98 but as someone who wasn’t the biggest Bulls fan then and didn’t follow that all that closely then, it’s just befuddling to sit here and watch that.

LOL, I think it's pretty obvious.  Reinsdorf was the driving force behind all this and Krause was a convenient scapegoat.  Not that both Jerrys weren't on-board, but the idea that Krause did all this over Reinsdorf's objections is and always has been ludicrous.

Yeah you're probably right, but still, how do you let that happen?  I still haven't gotten my head around that one all this time after The Last Dance ended.

In every organization there is one person who knows how everything works.  That person must be fired.

Charley Walters  @Charley_Walters  26m
Bud Chapman, the iconic Minneapolis golfer who has shot his age 3,899 times or better, has passed at 97.

Chapman is better known as the artist who came up with the “Infamous 18 Holes” paintings.  I have his Victoria Falls first hole hanging next to my limited edition 2016 Cubs World Series championship plaque in my living room

Snyder finally caved under the financial pressure and will change the Washington football club's racist, offensive name and logo (though knowing him I hesitate to think what the new one will be).  Boycotts actually do work.
