Damb.  I had Milwaukee winning this game.  I should change my prediction to 83 - 79 now.

Another prediction: this will be the first year in Cubs history that the pitching staff suffers the indignity of having zero complete games.

Of course I hope it doesn't happen, but I suspect it will.

At the halfway point in the season the Cubs are 33-48 (.407).  That puts them on a pace to finish 66-96.

They will get worse after the trade deadline.  My prediction of 60 wins may have been too much....

74-88

Congratulations to Chiman for his correct prediction!

The late-season surge really helped.  I didn't think this team had that in them.

This unhappy prediction of mine also came true:

Another prediction: this will be the first year in Cubs history that the pitching staff suffers the indignity of having zero complete games.

Of course I hope it doesn't happen, but I suspect it will.

CurtOne is so dumb that he thinks that Taco Bell is a Mexican Phone Company.

Bet Dave doesn't even know that Taco Bell was named after its original founder George Taco.

I was going to take 75 wins...but since Dusty got there first, 74-88.

I can see the path to a 1998-like wild card season. But more likely, it's just another bad team. I like the Taillon deal. Swanson improves the team for a year or two even though he was their fourth best option at shortstop. The intentional massive downgrade at catcher offset Swanson's impact on the 2023 team. The rest of this offseason was swapping out last year's LIAB candidates for this year's LIAB candidates.

76-86.  The top end is probably 85 wins if everything goes right, bottom end is 70.
