So many #Cubs fans blistering replies re: DH. Some thoughts:
— Your team is 13-3 and you’re worried it cannot survive series vs rookie-infused rival that hasn’t played in 17 days?
— Series was at least 27 innings. It will now be 37.
— Cover 10 extra, maybe go 4-1.

Why the angst?

Sounds like somebody's building a strawman there.  I don't know any Cub fans here who have all that much angst over it.  I just look at it as a chance to bury them for the season.

I thought all Cardinals and former Cardinals LOVED St. Louis.  Lance Lynn didn't get the memo.

"I'm not going to lie to you: That win was probably the most satisfying I've ever had in my career, not counting the playoffs,” Lynn said. “I enjoyed it quite a bit, beating them. It's one of the teams I [did] not have a Major League win against, and now I do, and I definitely enjoy it.

"Prove it, hatefulness, a little bit of everything,” added Lynn of the emotion behind his effort.

The new whine in St. Louis is about upper management not taking steps during Free Agency to shore up the pitching staff.  Wainwright and Flaherty are fragile, and all they added only Matz.  Sure, we had to have a catcher, but the first priority should have been pitching.  We have a great line-up but we're losing games.  Waaa waaa waaa. 

Tough loss for Cards tonight in SF.

Giants Utility C/LF Blake Sabol hits 2-run homer with 2 outs and 2 strikes in bottom of 9th, as Cards blow 2-run lead they took into bottom of 9th. All runs unearned as Edman made error allowing leadoff hitter to reach.

Ouch.

Cubs now 5 games up on Cards.

Cardinals fans doing plenty of booing at their club tonight. Watched last few innings and home crowd is restless, as Cards lose their 7th straight and bolster their lead with worst record in NL.

Yeah, Cards fans came into season with high expectations. So, kind of understandable they are upset.

129 games left in the season and I suspect they will be pretty good at some point. But, their current woes probably means that NL Central is wide open.
