And Ozuna and Carpenter.

They better not try and hit Bryant next year.

Always thought the title of this topic was redundant.

Keith Law chat:

AGirlHasNoName: St Louis really is boring, right?

Keith Law: That whole meme has **** me up because it is probably my least favorite city to visit among the 26 MLB metro areas. Not a great food scene, not a lot to do, and on a personal level not many people I know in the area.

Not knowing many people in St. Louis is probably a good thing.

The Cardinals came into Wrigley 3 games up and riding high. Since then they are in a tail spin and lost again today.

Cardinals are like Jason or Freddy.  When you think they're dead, they're not.  Kill them again.  Then do it a couple more times for good measure.

That's 42,529 as in 42,529 empty seats, huh?

But JeffH is SO right about the Cards!

"When you think they're dead, they're not!  Kill them again, please!"

Well said, Jeff!  It's a LONG season!

The Cardinals are panicking...

Quote
DALLAS KEUCHEL
SP, HOUSTON ASTROS

Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports that the Yankees are "facing late competition" from the Cardinals in their effort to sign free agent starter Dallas Keuchel.
Martino also writes that the Braves and Twins remain involved, "though the exact level of their interest" is unclear. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com heard from a source earlier this week that the Yankees had emerged as the "true favorites" for Keuchel, but it seems the Cardinals are making a push. Keuchel is no longer tied to draft-pick compensation and should land somewhere soon, maybe even with a multi-year contract in hand. The veteran southpaw posted a 3.74 ERA and 153/58 K/BB ratio over 204 2/3 innings (34 starts) with the Astros in 2018.

With the Cards in hot pursuit of Keuchel, it made me think of this gem of an article from last season.

Hochman: Cards develop starters, Cubs buy them. A look at the risk and reward
