Are they going to put a giant Cubs logo on it?

Willie McCovey died today.  One of the best hitters I have ever seen.

RIP.

Red Sox fans celebrate by tossing beer cans at the duck boats carrying players in the parade and damage the World Series trophy.    Manager Alex Cora, and his daughter, were doused by a different can.

I guess duck boats are still safe if used on dry land.

Damn.  That had to be a full beer to do that damage.  That is a waste of good beer!

Oh.  I replayed it and they were tossing the full can of beer to the players.  They were not throwing it at the trophy.  I guess you blame the players for not catching the damn beer.

Speaking of uses for beer.... try cooking pasta in beer.

Just replace the water you boil your pasta in with an equal amount of beer.

Excellent.

Carrie Muskat retires from covering the Cubs for MLB.com

Carrie Muskat  @CarrieMuskat  1h1 hour ago
A personal note: I'm now a free agent. While I won't be writing for MLB dot com, I'll try to keep you updated on #Cubs news. Thanks for your support, your trust and the giggles over the years. See you in AZ and at Wrigley

Say what you want about Carrie but she was hard-working, loyal to the Cubs, and did not go for the nonsense that some others often spew out.  At age 62, the travel may have finally wore her down.

Damn... just never thought of Muscat being 62... and can't imagine retiring that young.
