I thought Girardi was really good when he was working TV for Fox a few years ago.  He’ll be a solid addition I think.

Yeah I'm not really in love with that either to tell you the truth.

Yeah I'm not really in love with that either to tell you the truth.

It can be done, if it is done right.  Brickhouse, Vince Lloyd and whoever did very well.  But if they have to do it, I would much prefer that it be the same three every day.  They rotate so many though there that you never know who is saying what.

I think that JD is good.  Sutcliffe is fair.  Ron Coomer is, in my opinion, poor.

Boog tries to be the entertainment himself, rather than the ballgame.  Carey was very successful doing that, but Boog can not pull it off.

I would love to see Pat Hughes as the play by play announcer, JD as the color guy, and if they feel that they have to have a woman in there for diversity, at least let it be the same woman every game.

Brickhouse was awful.  He just didn't add anything that was useful.

When did you see him?  In the 50s he was decent.  In the 60s he was failing, and after that he was terrible.

Late 50s to start.  I was probably too young to make an assessment during those early years.

I guess I’m in the minority on this, but I kinda like Sutcliffe.

He’s clearly a Cubs homer, he seems to have a pretty good working knowledge of our farm system, and he has funny stories and anecdotes quite often.

I like Sutcliffe too, but too often he predicts what just happened.

I like Sutcliffe also, because he not only gives praise for good plays, but also criticizes bad plays.  The only gripe I have with him is that, although I like his calling out bad plays and mistakes, he often just won't let it go.  Steve Stone would also mention bad plays, but you didn't have to hear it for three innings.

No Joe Carter fans?

Bob Brenly (bad voice and all) was alright until he started telling his limited number of anecdotes for the third or fourth time.

And that is what I like about Rick Sutcliffe.  He seems to have an unlimited number of stories that I've not heard.

Sutcliffe has many more stories that cannot be told on the air.
