It would probably have been easier if you hadn't married someone named Osama bin Laden.  Next time think ahead.

Expired license/passport?

You have to have a license to get on a plane as a passenger?  You need a passport to board a plane flying from one point in the US to another point in the US?

Passport used as ID.

Yes, you need a license or ID.  When was the last time you flew on a plane, Jes?

I lost my license last Christmas in Arizona.  I tried to think of how the heck I'd get back home.  Pretty weird sensation.  It did make mew think.  I couldn't rent a car.  Couldn't drive one legally.  Ended up finding it before the flight home.

You don't need an ID to board a plane, but its HIGHLY recommended that you have one to go through the security checkpoint. While it is possible to fly without an ID, the TSA makes it a pain in the butt, so I'm hoping they just ignore the fact that it's expired...or don't notice!

As long as he has a picture ID he'll be fine.  They don't look at expiration dates.  They make sure the name on the license matches the face they are looking at.  As long as those two things match up, expiration date won't matter.  You have any idea how many people are driving around with expired licenses?  I heard it was the #1 thing people get ticketed for.

But you do need a boarding pass, and you can't get a boarding pass without a picture ID.

Sure you can, check in online and print it from home. :) We aren't checking any luggage so we have no need to stop at the ticket counter.

I wasn't aware that you could get through security without a picture ID.  If you can, it certainly reduces the effectiveness of the security.

Airport security is managed by the same people who manage voting rights.

What in the world caused you to believe the security was effective?

I don't know anyone that can get through security without a picture ID unless they are a minor.
