Most of the people in our country are just like you and me, WJ.  Unfortunately we have a small percentage that do want to do those things after those games and movies.  And they do.

My point, however, is that our government and society are bipolar.  The President proposes tougher gun laws, while his biggest Hollywood supporters continue the problem of encouraging a society in which resorting to justifiable violence is A-OK.  Mentally ill people don't know the difference.

It's like the WWE promoting anti-bullying campaigns when all their scenarios and storylines revolve around a good guy fighting a bully of some kind.  The hypocrisy drips.

After killing the kids, he killed himself.  Hard to say he didn't take personal responsibility.

Many of these shooters are mentally ill.  They are not aware of right and wrong.  And, as Dave says, many take their own lives almost as part of some magnificent plan.  Maybe there is a momentary glimpse of reality and horror as to what they did.

Been listening to a lot of forensic psychologists lately...head's swimming.

A number of years ago I bowled with a guy whose adult son had mental problems.  Fearing for their safety, his parents tried to have him committed.  Their request was turned down because he had not "proven to be a risk to anybody".    One night after bowling my friend arrived home and was shot and killed by his son.

Trying to come up with legislation that effectively addresses the problem of mental illness and guns will be no easy task.

Forensic psychologists are like stock market analysts.  They can always tell you why you should have known what would happen yesterday, but can never tell you what will happen tomorrow.

I agree, Cactus.

Combine that with the stigma that mental illness still has.  I had an uncle, a non-blood related uncle, who had serious mental issues.  Notice how I worded that in order to distance myself?  Everyone does that to an extent.

Another problem is that a lot of people, unlike your friend, would never commit their child or their relative.  And to top it, too many counselors are bound by a set of ethics that are archaic.

On the other hand, I would hate for it to be too easy for the Government to be able to decide who should be medicated.

I will be buying it today! I've been trying to find a new book to read for my upcoming flights, this will be perfect!

Really cool Robb, I've always wanted to write but I don't have the attention span to finish a story. What an accomplishment!

Thanks Redbird and Fits.  If you read it please leave me a review on the same page.  It really helps move you up in the kindle world.

Not all problems have solutions, but all efforts to impose solutions have both costs and create their own generally unforeseen problems.

Great job Robb.  I bought a copy and will try to read it soon.  I've always wanted to write as well, but I just can't find the time.  With all your kids, how do you find the time?  I've just got 4.

I enjoy it when the kids find time for me.  Seems they are so busy with their lives I get too much time to myself.  Let me know what you think Grrrr, and even better please post a review on Amazon.  I need about 15 more.

What happens if you get 15 more?

Does Amazon send you a fruit basket?
