For those of you that are not happy with Wrigley Field, its still a magical place to watch a game.

Which is fortunate, since this team can't win without the help of magic.

Me and my kids went to the 6-0 win against SD this week and we chose to use the shuttle bus service from the new remote lot. The Cubs have that process down pat.
I still hate the outrageous concessions prices, but a trip to Wrigley is more than just going to a game.

True story.

Today was my mother's 105th birthday.  She lives in the Meadows of Glenellyn, and they had a party for her this afternoon.  It included a cake with 105 candles on the cake.  When they blew out the candles, the smoke was enough to set off the smoke alarm and the fire departmant had to come out.

A write up will be done in the Glenellyn paper next Friday.

I'm watching the Braves postgame, and they're setting up a stage for Weezer to perform at Turner Field.  Rivers Cuomo was just playing catch in the outfield.

Has their career really fallen so far that they're playing free postgame concerts for teams that don't draw very well?

Weezer is one of the headliners for the epic RiotFest coming to Chicago next month:

Don't get me wrong, they're at the top of the list of bands I've never seen but would like to see live.  I'd be looking forward to it too.

But postgame Braves concerts are usually reserved for KC and the Sunshine Band, or the Newsboys, or whatever pop-country artist is currently popular. Seems like Weezer should have higher standards.

For anyone interested, the link below takes you to a story of my mother's 105th birthday party.  Even a picture of her with the firemen that came to put out the fire on her birthday cake.

For what it is worth, they spelled her last name wrong.  It is Dik.

Note at the bottom the things that were going on the year she was born.  The Cubs were reigning World Champions.
