According to local authorities the Dentist and his guide lured the lion out of the park (illegal), obtained a lion permit from a landowner who didn't actually own a lion permit (illegal), and initially lied about the particular circumstances.

The only reason I know anything about this is because every time I do a google search for "Cubs" it points me to latest story on the Dentist.

Cecil's lion cubs were being taken care of by Cecil's brother, Jericho.  Jericho was killed today in a protected are in Zimbabwe.

Well, my mother made it to here 106th birthday today.  Good thing I embezzled all her money years ago, or I would be pi&&ed about having to wait for my inheritance.
