75 years ago today.  The end of World War II.

General Douglas MacArthur signs as Supreme Allied Commander during Japan's formal surrender ceremonies on the battleship USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, Sept. 2, 1945.

It's sad when any of our leaders pass away, even if is from the other aisle.   This is a two sided coin for Trump, he can try to push a candidate through and the Democrats will try to obstruct it just like the Republicans did to Obama when he nominated a very good candidate.  On the other hand if a nominee is approved before the election, that's one less reason the fence sitters have to vote for him.  (The ones whose only reason right now is control of the SCOTUS.).

Democrats cannot stop a nomination without atleast 3 votes crossing the isle. if only 2 do, then pence votes in a 51-50....

they will get another justice. and expect it to be worse then the last one in terms of ideology. he might put someone like ted cruz up there.

That Mitch McConnell said a court opening in the last year of a president's term should be filled by the winner of the next election was taken back by him several months ago.

Of course, it's not necessarily the last months of the Trump presidency.

Ted Cruz would probably be moderate compared to some others like Barr or Hannity.  Or Nancy Grace!

Best running back I have ever seen.  Better than Payton in their respective primes.  Unfortunately, Sayer's prime was cut tragically short by knee injuries.

At least that's less tragic than what happened to the other RB in the backfield around that time.
