Digesting the Cubs in 2021 thread, most of which is over my head, but exciting to read, I’m reminded of the final lyric in Dylan’s One Too Many Mornings. — You are right from your side / And I’m right from mine / We’re both just one too many mornings / And a thousand miles behind. — Man, Dylan does a live solo performance of that song back in ‘65 or so, and it’s one of the supreme examples of singing behind the beat. The singer is on beat, but he’s behind it. Dylan was a terrific singer back then, just full of nuance. So, we’re back to Wait Until Next Year . . . or maybe just a couple of years.
