I have a Samsung 1080 40 inch LED in my media room and it's frickin' awesome.

Has Jes chimed in yet with his lame line about how he can't tell the difference between SD and HD yet?

That's always fun.

Are there any decent shows on television?  Watching something that seemed okay and then a talking skeleton appeared.  Zombies or vampires.  Honey Boo Boo or Cupcake Wars.

Yes.  They are showing The Honeymooners on METV.  And The Fugitive, if you can stand the hungover acting of David Janssen.

I just watched the space shuttle Endeavour fly almost right overhead on the back of a 747.  What an amazing sight.

Yeah, it's pretty cool.

We used to get out of class and watch as it flew back to the Kennedy Space Center back in middle school.

New drama on ABC -- Last Resort, the premiere is this Thursday, but they have made it available on hulu, presumably to create some buzz.... and it is indeed buzz-worthy.  Best TV I have seen since the first season of 24.  http://www.hulu.com/watch/401576

Last Resort does look good.  Looking forward to checking it out.  Hope it's better than Revolution.

It used way too much technology that doesn't exist.  I had a hard time watching it

Which show?

Last Resort looked much better than it was.  I liked how they landed on the island and there was one person from each ethnic group there.

How fast do missiles travel anyway?

Oh, now you are just being picky.

Last Resort was great TV.

But if you want to pick at things, my own favorite was that the nuke the sub is tracked as passing over Indiana on its way to Washington, DC, and then is harmlessly detonated in the air before reaching DC, blowing up "200 miles east" of DC.  Technology that doesn't exist is not all the show works with (and I had no problem with thinking it might be set a few years in the future) -- they also work with geography which doesn't exist, with Indiana apparently being east of D.C.

Details, details.  Great TV.

This is a quote from one of the writers/producers of Last Resort and it sums up why I won't be watching it:

Quote
Flashfoward was a great pilot, The Nine was a great pilot, The Event was an okay pilot. Lost was a great pilot — and it was really the only that followed through. So it can be done. We hope we’re the ones to get it done. We think we can. There’s no reason you should believe us. You’ve been lied to far too much.

That show screams, "Good/great pilot, everything goes downhill from there kinda show."

I loved Flashforward and The Event pilots a lot more than I liked Last Resort's.

I do hope that Revolutions doesn't get cancelled though.  And I'm sad to see Fringe on its last season.  I was hoping for an X-Files type run for it.

Although I don't have Showtime - I'm really looking forward to purchasing the season of Homeland and Dexter.  Those are must see TV.
