Schwarber seems to be warming up of late.  He just hit a 425 for bomb to center.

Didn't go out though. Damn 40-ft wall.

Zobrist is hitting .143, Schwarber is hitting .125, Bryant is hitting .211.  Who cares.

Well, now Bryant and Schwarber are producing with extra-base hits. Heyward, however, was 0-3 today and is now 2-26 overall.

Jorge Soler is 2-26 this Spring.

Bad trade for them, I guess.

Well, unless we wait to see how the regular season plays out.

The Cubs have too many options to ride Heyward for a full season if his offense is as awful as it was last year. I suspect he'll be fine, but if he's beyond repair he'll morph into a late-inning defensive sub before the All-Star break.

Soler at least hit a bit last year, 35 points higher than Heyward in adjusted OPS. At some point we need to see Heyward hit.

Yes, and we're all just going to have to wait and see what he can do when the games mean something.

In the meantime, it's practice.

I wonder how much his rough spring eats at Heyward's own self-confidence?

That plate may have been empty when he got to the table.

I'm still not sold on Happ, but he's certainly having a good spring.

Wow, that guy is hotter than hot.  Got a hit his other AB, too, 2-2 thus far.  Crazy.

He played 65 games in AA last summer.  Wonder if he'll start at AA again, and move to Iowa mid-season?  Or if they'll just stick him right at Iowa right from the start?  Certainly doesn't look unqualified this camp, that's for sure.

Almora's really hit well too. Not drawing walks but using the whole field and flashing power.
