That coaching staff could beat the Cubs most days.

Cubs win, Cubs win!  Outhit 6-2, but get the win.  Fun to have a radio broadcast on in the background while doing other stuff.

Craig, Gray Fenter and Brendon Little are scheduled to pitch today.  On TV.  Should be interesting.

Thanks, Jeff, for sharing that.  I'll try to watch their innings tonight or tomorrow night.

I'll be interested in how Alzolay looks, too.

I kinda wish we'd been able to see Megill yesterday.  Padre's radio guys made it sound like he couldn't throw his fastball for strikes, but it sounded like the curve and change were almost all swing-and-miss.  I think he's got a chance to pitch some big-league innings someday, if his control ever allows.

Man, Maples is fun.  It's like watching a cartoon.

This is going to be his 10th year in the Cubs organization.  The dude is a survivor!

Are Contreras and Baez the only guys who have been in the organization longer?

Actually Baez and Maples were both part of the 2011 draft class.  Contreras dates back to 2009, so he's the longest.

If Underwood leaves the organization after being DFA'ed, it'll just leave David Bote as the lone survivor of the 2012 draft class.

Maples looked like he had a somewhat decent idea of how to get the ball in the general direction of the plate today.  That would be fun if he could do that more.
