Rossie should read the riot act to Javy.  No excuse for that mistake.

Darvish clearly not on his A-game but still fairly dominant.

I'm just now learning that Adalberto Mondesi is the same person as Raul Mondesi, Junior.

Has there ever been a SP with as much velocity as Yu who relies on it less?

Scott Barlow, who just pitched the 7th for KC, seems like kind of reliever who could help Cubs bullpen at trade deadline.

KC might be moving some guys.

They're probably not moving effective relievers who are under team control through the 2024 season.

They won’t give him away but a rebuilding team might be willing to move a middle reliever who they use even when behind. Yeah, you’d have to give up something of value. Point is quite a few guys like this are out there.

Nice jobs by Baez and Contreras, going the other way for 2-out RBIs.

Smoke and mirrors, but you can’t argue with results.

If you assume he’s unavailable tomorrow anyway, may as well let him pitch the ninth.

Non-save situation now. Don't go to Wick and pull Jeffress. Sadler and Tepera have been fine, go to one of them.

Cubs putting up some insurance runs as Caratini motors all the way around from first as Merrifield bobbles a base hit; 6-1.

Colin Rea is coming in to shut the Royals down in the 9th and make his Cubs debut in the process.  He's wearing the position-player-ish number 20.

Out old pal Jorge Soler will lead off against him.
