That will classify as a blown save, but it also goes as another of their "Cubs win when leading in the 8th" stats, for which they've still only lost once with an 8th inning lead.

One of Yu's runs changed to unearned, ERA down to 1.86.  Shame we blew the win for him.

Jeffress up to 4.49 FIP and 5.13 XFIP.

Jeffress has far outperformed his FIP throughout his career:  3.10 career ERA and 3.66 career FIP.  He really profits from the shift because throws more GBs than average and gets plenty of DPs.

His super low ERA in 2020 was not going to last, but gotta love how he sticks to his game plan and doesn't give in to hitters. Does a really good job staying away from middle of the plate.

Yeah, let’s hope that Kimbrel can regain the closer role but Jeffress has filled in admirably so far and figures to be important rest of the way too in whatever role.

Failing to get a run home after second and third with nobody out in the 7th.  Not a formula for winning.

Maybin with a single, Hoerner follows with a double, nobody out, can’t score.

Kimbrel looks to be back - no H in 9 of his last 12 appearances and 26 Ks in 14 IP on the season.  He really should be closing at this point.

Delino Deshields has got to be around 45 years old at least.

Hold up now, Adams pitching for the Cubs but runner on second.  Oh yeah, forgot new rule.

David Ross makes some very curious in game moves. Those PH decisions make no sense.

Thanks Francona for the out.  My word, Adam didn't throw a pitch anywhere near the zip codes of Chicago to the leadoff guy, and they're bunting right afterwards.

Adam does his job. Bottom 10, and we get a lead off phantom double to start the bottom half, heart of the lineup up.

The Cubs aren't really going to blow this bases loaded, no out situation, are they?
