Rules:
- This topic will only contain your choice of available players when the Chicago Bears make their selection.
- This topic will not be used for draft discussion. We have a topic for that.
- Until draft day this topic will be used for discussion on rules for this topic.
- Any posts made that do not follow these rules will be deleted.
- When the Chicago Bears are on the clock is when you make your pick of available players.
- After the Bears pick is announced you will not be allowed to make a pick.
- You are not required to be present for every pick. If you miss the first round you can still make the second round pick.
- You are required to be present and post your selection while the Bears are on the clock.
- If the Bears trade up in the draft you must be prepared to post your selection before they make theirs.
- If the Bears trade down out of a pick (After you have posted your pick) your selection will remain so it can be compared to the results for the Bears
- If the Bears trade down you can still make your pick with the additional draft picks they receive even if you already made the pick for the player they traded off of.
-
Let the Games begin. No posting unless it is a pick when the Bears are on the clock.
-
make your picks now...
-
Edmunds
-
At #8, we should take Edmunds
-
Roquan Smith
-
Harold Landry

R. smith

Roquan Smith
-
ro Smith or trade down.
-
If not trade down then Christian Kirk.
-
no trade down predictions who would you pick right now? Those are being deleted.
-
ro smith.
-
boise state linebacker
-
Missed the pick. Smith is a good one, but I wanted Fitzpatrick myself. That's who I would have picked...
-
So I forgot and missed my chance. But for the record, I would have taken Roquan Smith. I love the pick!
-
I wouldn't think it would matter as long as you didn't make a hindsight pick.
-
RD2 make your pick now,
-
Josh Jackson
-
harold Landry
-
Landry
-
RD2 #2 PK 51.
Make it now

I was out of town all weekend as well...these are my thoughts...
4th round - I would have preferred Josh Sweat, Genard Avery*, Marquis Haynes*
5th round - Tyrell Crosby, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Tim Settle*
6th round - Deon Cain, maybe? (I'm quite happy with Fitts)
7th round - Auden Tate, maybe? (I'm quite happy with Wims)
(*) - same position as the guy we drafted
-
Listening to round 2 on the radio while driving to Illinois, I was hoping for Landry when we made the Daniels pick, and Carter when we made the Miller pick...but I'm ecstatic over how those 2 picks worked out, so no complaints there...
-
Bears just got to hope Floyd completely recovers and Aaron Lynch can stay healthy. Besides them the Bears have Acho, last year FAs Irving and Jones, and rookie Kylie Fitts.
This was a huge need going into the draft and wasn't really addressed. Can't really blame Pace too much as there weren't a lot of quality edge guys drafted this year. Packers and Lions had the same needs and failed to land any big names either.
Got to get pressure on Rodgers, Stafford and Cousins to slow them down or maybe Pace's strategy is to try to outscore them.

Hard to tell exactly what Pace thinks but, we dropped the ball on our #1 need.

Why was mine deleted and others doing the same thing weren't??
-
What was deleted?
-
Said I wasn't able to be here during the first pick but that I would have picked Minkah over Roquan but liked the pick they made.
-
Hey, it was the first year trying this so mmaybe we can tweak it next year a bit. Mine was deleted also, but I am 100% on board with the pick of Roquan Smith and Javon Wims.
Maybe the rules should be predict the choice for the Bears. Bragging rights if you get it right. Next, do you agree with the pick? If yes, fine. If not, who would you have chosen instead. Maybe keep it open for a week after the draft. So this year, when we picked 4th, there has been a lot of hand wringing with the 4th round ILB. So ok, who would you have chosen? Then we track and move forward.
Just a suggestion.
I think part of this is to predict who the Bears will select. But I also think it is to do away with the, "we should have drafted, player X instead.... revisionists history. We should have drafted Watson over Trubisky, we should have drafted Kamara over Shaheen, etc
-
Both posts have been restored...I assume wmljohn deleted them without reading them thoroughly to see the picks...
-
Yes. They were not supposed to be there. The rule was, If you were not there for the pick the conversation was a draft conversation and not a pick prediction when the Bears were on the clock.
This was a bomb anyway. No one was even around after the second pick so I even gave up following and policing it.
BTW I think I accidentally deleted one today. :(
-
But I didn't think this was for pick prediction necessarily, but rather a "who would you have chosen at that time?"...which could be posted right after the draft or any time before they started playing...
-
No i think this was a contest thread... call your shot before the pick...
-
Yes. It was set up to make the pick of available players when they were on the clock. No one reads rules...
#5 When the Chicago Bears are on the clock is when you make your pick of available players.
#6 After the Bears pick is announced you will not be allowed to make a pick.
All the I liked, or didn't like, or I would have, or they should have stuff was for the draft topic.
-
Woo Hoo, can it
-
I think there is value in keeping some of this going. Too much "why did we draft this guy, when this guy was available talk" Making a selection in favor or against, we can revisit who supported the pick at the time... or didn't
-
The problem with this was having to make the pick while Bears were on the clock. You have no idea how much time you have. Why not just have everyone post whom they would have taken at the pick, even if it is after the fact?
-
That’s what I though the plan was...much better than trying to guess who the Bears are going to pick.
I thought the idea was that years down the road, we could look back and say “well, they should have taken my guy” or “damn, glad they took him instead of my guy”...
-
I chose Edmunds over Smith but unless none just flat busts, I doubt we will ever know which pick was best. I expect Smith to have a bigger impact faster but Edwards could have more upside.
-
I actually am fine with Smith over Edmunds. I thought he was the more solid pick before the draft. Now that a lot of information about Smith is coming out, I like the pick even better. I am believing Pace was smarter than I thought he was. Will Edmunds be a success in the NFL? I really cant say. I just think he is more plyable. Its hard to say what he becomes. That is not saying Smith cant learn new tricks. I see Smith now as a leader on the field which I didnt see before. I think we got a stud, a difference maker.
When Nelson went before us I felt the correct thing to do was trade down, which we didnt do. I am very Ok with Smith who I liked over Edmunds before the draft.
-
So far, the real angst I hear is from drafting the player (whose name I cannot spell) in the 4th round, while there were some other potential edge rusher prospects available.
I think generally, everyone is pretty satisfied with Smith, Daniels, and Miller. No?
