One thing Ian Stewart will do is guarantee we get a real good look at Josh Vitters.

We should know what we have with him after next year.

Those two slugs will probably give the Cubs the worst production at third base in the game, and that's saying something, considering the state of third basemen in the Majors these days.

The Theocracy has really done a poor job when it comes to third base, IMO.

I would cut Ian Stewart and try to get what I could in a trade for Josh Vitters and then eat the hot dog before the expiration date.

Vitters is unlikely to perform well enough at Iowa that his performance simply demands an early callup in 2013 (as Rizzo's performance did in 2012), and without an early callup, the Cubs still be unlikely to know for sure how well he can do even when they open the 2014 season.

I would be quite surprised if Vitters had 150 ABs for the Chicago Cubs in 2013.

If they get Jackson, I think they're better off than they would've been with Sanchez.  He'll be a little cheaper, and there's just something I don't trust about Sanchez.
