I will say, I'm very skeptical about Hendry stepping in and telling Wilken not to take Parker over Vitters. In the 2003 draft, Hendry preferred taking Michael Aubrey since he was a college bat and the Cubs were in win now mode, but he deferred to Stockstill and let him take high schooler Ryan Harvey instead.
That doesn't sound like Hendry at all for him to overrule Wilken's judgment between Parker and Vitters, especially considering how much respect Hendry had for Wilken.
I don't know about Weiters or not, but the Parker/Vitters decision sounds like revisionist history to me.
