I think most people are under estimating the value that Garza has in a trade.  2 months of Greinke brought back 2 top 10 prospects.  While Garza isn't going to bring that back,  a team like the Pirates could use rotation help and the fact the Cubs could pay Garza's salary should easily get you a top 5-10 prospect.  Feldman is going to be one of the better pitchers on the market and should get a return similar to Dempster (Villanueva struggled the first month, but he's a boarderline top 10 guy and did really well in May). 

I just don't see Feldman helping the Cubs long term and I don't think he'll sign an extension were he isn't in the rotation for sure. 

Rafael Dolis is on the DL with a forearm strain.  Blake Parker takes his place.  Alex Burnett was DFA'd to make room for Parker on the 40-man roster.

Saw this posted on NSBB...Chris Bosio is apparently very good at teaching pitchers to get ground balls.  Here are the ground ball percentages pre- and post-Bosio for the six starters:

Hey, maybe he could get Edwin Jackson to stop sucking while he's at it.

Or perhaps what Bosio might be having Jackson do which has resulted in the higher groundball rate (according to the stats brjones posted Jackson was a 43.8% groundball pitcher before the Cubs and is a 50.8% groundball pitcher now) is also contributing to his overall much poorer performance this year.

I still think it's amazing that any time a left handed hitter puts the ball in play against Jackson, it has a 42.7% chance of falling for a hit.  I'm not even sure how that's possible.

I know it's tough to keep running him out there when he's pitching like this, especially if it starts getting in his head, but I still think the best cure for Jackson is some patience. 

Jackson has thrown a league-leading 7 wild pitches this year.  All seven have come in games that Navarro started.  We're probably at a point where Navarro just shouldn't catch Jackson.
