TBS pitch trax was/is awful, like their broadcast.

Freeze frame the swing or look at the link.  It was just above his knees.

You freeze frame. Try 36 seconds. It's a hanging meatball or the definition is meaningless. Pitch did nothing.

Excuse you, but I'm pointing out a fact that a trained chimp can see. It's a legitimate fact that makes Epstein's example hollow.  Some of us are still concerned with facts whether we like them or not. Nobody is wallowing.

Seen Clippard dozens of times. That was one of worst pitches from him I've ever seen--no action; bad location--and Bryant did what he's supposed to do.

It wasn't a good pitch. It wasn't a hanging meatball, if that is a hanging meatball almost all of the strike zone is going to be a meatball. His change up had 8-11 inches of vertical movements in that inning. The one Bryant hit out had 9 inches. It was a poorly located pitch that caught too much of the plate.

Mooney has a little piece on the potential for keeping Arrieta a Cub. It includes this bit from Theo's press conference:

“(Jake) handled the breakthrough and the dominance with such class,” Epstein said. “(He did it) in such a generous, inclusive manner that I think it set the tone for the whole team (by) including all of his teammates after the no-hitter. And as he got all the attention down the stretch, deflecting it to the team as a whole.

“That set an amazing tone. We were really thankful for that, as well as what he did on the mound. His mindset of always trying to get better — despite being at the top — really rubbed off on everybody and will continue for years to come.”

Theo really believes in the importance of team culture.

Ah, a semantical argument.

The pitch was a dead fish, how bout that? It had no movement and spun just below the center of the zone, a perfect pitch for Bryant and his upper-cut swing to drill. Had absolutely nothing in common with the changeups that Bryant was missing all series.

Here's another piece from Theo's press conference. In this one, he provides some perspective on what it's like in the playoffs. Included is this:

"I've been on both sides of it," Epstein said. "I've been in the situation where the team I was working for was the hot team going into the World Series or LCS. It almost creates like a tidal wave. There's nothing the other team can do.

"The series creates momentum in itself where you never surrender the lead in any game. You almost never give the team a chance to feel like they're in the series.

"It's a great feeling when you're the tidal wave. It's not such a great feeling when you're the dinghy, getting pushed around by that tidal wave. And the Mets were that tidal wave right now."
