Nico has to learn how to hit for power. Surely these batting coaches can help with that.  CF might work but if he’s going to injure himself on non-contact plays that’s troublesome.

Before the season, Madrigal was ranked as the #39 prospect in baseball by Fangraphs. And he didn't do anything to hurt that value before he got hurt (he was on pace for a 4 fWAR season). He's a pretty good get for the Cubs.

On Hoerner, I'm not convinced he's a starter for next year's team. His development has really been hurt by the late 2019 shortstop injuries followed by the pandemic year. He still has so little experience above the low minors.

After having Russell and Baez at SS, playing Hoerner's arm at SS on a regular basis would be pretty disappointing.
