Winkler seems to have been a bit premature in indicating that he was ready.  All four men he has pitched to have reached base, and the Marlins have extended their lead to three with still only one out.

The inning finally ends with the Marlins scoring 11 runs.

On the bright side, the Cubs seem to be averaging two runs per inning today, so maybe we can pull off an 18-12 win somehow.

This guy Shawn Morimando pitching for the Marlins; I'm terrible at Spanish but it feels like his name means "person who is dying".

And he gets himself into trouble but then gets out of it.

Chirinos hits a double and now only needs a triple for the cycle.

I'm going to make him my favorite player for the rest of this season.  He's a throwback to a previous era: he was drafted in 2001 and was one of our prospects during the Prior/Wood era.  And now, two decades later, he's a Cub.

After a Schwindel homer, Chirinos hits a liner into the right field corner that is perfectly positioned for him to go for three, but he stops at second, and will probably settle for a 4-for-5 day with two doubles and a homer.
