Who singles in the winning run.  Cubs win!  Baez is an enigma, whatever that means.

Even with the importance of strikeouts in extra innings under this season's rules, I'm happy to see Kimbrel in for the heart of their lineup rather than saving him for a tenth inning that might never come.

Of course.

Standard Operating Procedure for home team to use closer top of the 9th in tie game. There can’t be a save situation anymore for home team. Can’t assume extra innings.

Great job by Javy on game-winner.

But, his shenanigans bring high likelihood of pitchers throwing at hitters and/or a brawl before end of this series.

I wonder what would have happened if that ball had left the park…

To Javy’s credit (in a way) he was jawing at Garrett BEFORE the game winner, not just afterward.

He could have struck out and looked bad.

Maybe there’s an unwritten rule about that which will stop retaliation. (I doubt it).

What went on between Baez and Garrett?

I'm just following on Yahoo, and it took them a long time to update the final score.  The MLB app shows a 5-5 final score.  Was the game-winning hit under review or something?

Tuffy, MLB has an article, headline - Javy bests Reds nemesis for walk-off win.  Explains it pretty good.  Dihard turned me on to the MLB radio feeds for only 20 bucks a year.  You have to get the MLB app first.  Then you sign up for the audio feed.  I wasn’t listening to Pat Hughes last night so I don’t know his take on it.  But the radio feed is a great asset.

Hoerner had a bad day yesterday.  I guess that happens.

Javy Báez was scratched due to a left heel bruise.
