One often sees plays where the batter should slide/dive going to first to avoid the tag after an errant throw.  But it almost never happens.  Terrific and athletic head first dive by The Tank (regardless of whether the tag was made in time).

Although Wisdom showed good power in the minors, when you look at his overall performance there, you can see the flaws that kept him from getting a long shot at the majors.  The strikeout rate was extremely high, and were likely to go higher in the MLB.  Power would have to be prodigious in order to make a good MLB career likely.

But looking at the minor league career of Schwindel, it is hard to see why he was left down there for so long.  He showed both power and contact, and his defense, at least to this point, seems to be anything other than a deficit.  His triple A numbers of 2018 alone should have warrented at least 300 MLB at bats the following season.

He may well be a keeper.  And leave management with one less hole to fill in the free agent market.

When Marquee shut it down, it was the top of the hour…I think they simply reached the end of their predetermined window for the game, and switched to their regularly scheduled programming.

The EI feed was also shut down. DirecTV didn’t show available windows on their guide, so I couldn’t switch to the Pirates feed either.

What I could do was go to the MLB mix channel (721?) and watch the end on a small window in a screen full of multiple games going on at the time. That’s how I saw the ending.

I see people mentioning a Schwindel/Rivas platoon for ‘22.

While I appreciate Rivas as a potential prospect, does Big Frank really need a platoon partner? He seems to be raking against everyone…RHP and LHP.

Do his splits tell a different story? I’m too lazy to look…

DirecTV gives you the ability to add time to what they have allocated.  I have my TV set to automatically add 3 hours to every recorded game

Frank has been much better against LHP.

I don't think he needs a platoon partner, but Rivas might be a useful part.  Especially if the NL adds the DH.

That doesn’t mean a thing if Marquee shuts down their feed. I was watching live on 664 when the feed was pulled.
