Agreed - the turf was in terrible shape. The Seahawks complained about it last weeks. How in the hell in the turf bad in California?

I read somewhere that they went from some midwest supplier of grass to somewhere in like New Jersey or something. Different breed of grass with fast growing roots or something. Appears to make a difference....

 We should play Javon Wims this Sunday with Allen Robinson injured. It will help us down the road and give Robinson a break. It would seem like a win/win.

Nice article, but just a lot of projection. 

IF, Fangio wants to be a head coach then I can't imagine throwing dollars at him will change his mind to remain a coordinator.  He is 61, not 41.  So I can't imagine he would jump into a volatile situation.  Say the Cardinals who just hired Wilks decide to part ways after just one season.  Why would someone with a secure job and one he loves, step into that where the owner doesn't allow the current coach more than one season?  On the Score yesterday, Biggs did make this point and followed with the GM might be on thin ice also.  So would you leave Chicago to take a cluster job?


Unfortunately , I think the Packer job is a nice fit.  Hate him or just dislike him a lot, Rodgers is in place.  The offense lacks some talent for now at the skill positions, but as we have seen that can be fixed quickly, aka Bears 2017 vs Bears 2018.  Their defense is not good, but there are some parts there.  Fangio was able to guide the rebuild of our defense, before he oversaw the rebuild of the 49er defense.  He would also be an adult voice with Rodgers which is what he needs, not some young up and coming offensive coach.  Rodgers isn't going to change now.


If offered the Packer head coach position, would Fangio change his mind because we sweeten his deal here?  Not likely.  Not if his career dream was to be a banker.... er, a head coach.  A little Seinfeld reference there at the end...


I don't buy that there is anything we can do to keep Fangio if the right opportunity comes along and that is what he wants.  No matter what the cost.

Gotcha, I just think Biggs puts a bunch of stuff out there.  He was leading the charge after 2016 to release Fuller after sitting out the season.  Funny, Fuller was vilified for sitting out and not "toughing it out", and he ended up being the smart one.  Floyd tried to play through injury this season rather than sit, and there were calls to have him traded, etc.  Glad to see he rebounded, but perhaps Floyd would have been better served to sit and heal.

Thats the way I'd go and give Fangio the title assistant HC. Didnt the Bears have the same problem with Buddy Ryan? He didnt have much luck once he left.

This will be an interesting game.  The Vikes are in desperation mode, as if they dont win they dont get in the playoffs, where the Bears are in no matter what.  And if the Rams win, the outcome of this game is kind of meaningless.  So if we stay at the 3 seed our opponent will be the Vikes, Seahawks, or Eagles.  I am not sure who would be the best opponent at Soldier Field, maybe the Vikes....
