Daniel is a career backup with virtually no starting experience in his entire career aside from the Detroit game.  Plus he's short, doesn't possess Trubisky's big arm or his escapability athleticism.

You can't expect a 100 rating game out of Daniel 2 weeks in a row - but you do expect a QB to at least catch the damn snap.
And to throw the damn ball away rather than taking a sack...

See Daniel attributes...short, average arm, lack of game experience...the picks come with the territory but fumbling 4 or 5 snaps?

We see the value of Trubisky even more now....sure he has some issues in finding that secondary receiver but often he turns a bad play into a nice gain when he scrambles for yardage or at least enough to escape the sack.

I keep thinking the rain/drizzle had a lot to do with Daniel performance yesterday.  Not making excuses for him, but he did say in his presser the ball was a little slick.

His pocket presence and ability to get rid of the ball when necessary was awful. Seemed as if I was yelling most of the game "throw the damn ball away".. Yes, the fumbles snaps were jaw dropping.. Rex Grossman?

Maybe has small hands too - he was having more problems than anyone else with the slippery balls

I will say this though. I can remember a time that we would've loved to have Daniel as our starter, let alone backup. Remember Quinn

Too true...we've all been here long enough to have seen much, much worse than what Chase Daniel brings to the table.

Yeah we've all seen our overabundance of duds instead of studs

Wasn't it just last season that Glennon was our starter. Who the hell was in charge of that?

Which is why I was hoping we would draft Trubisky, though he might not have been the best value at 2 he addressed a huge need.  And BTW the 49ers haven't got anything special out of Soloman Thomas.  Smug ba$tard John Lynch.

Dave23....that so maddening wasn't it? THROW THE BALL AWAY!!!! But, he is a backup for a reason.

I do believe Trubisky could have started. Nagy was getting too cute there and thought he could get away with it. I heard the Giants D coordinator just need some film on Daniel to know how to beat him.

Once the NFL gets film on you......you better have an answer.

Also - you can't turn the ball over 3 times with your backup QB playing.
