Did DeJesus take a flop?

It is kind of maddening to watch, but then again, this bullpen needs Kerry Wood (or some other RH reliever) to step up.  The only way you get someone to step up is to throw them out there and hope they can get the job done.

Well, the Cubs may need to consider putting Bowden in more often.  He's made 3 appearances as a Cub, and has been on the roster since April 23.  And unlike Wood and Marmol, he has been mostly effective.

Or how about this...how about not trying to get by with what is essentially a 4 man bullpen?  Wood obviously is having issues...put him back on the DL and let him work on his issues on a rehab assignmnet.  Or do something with Lendy Castillo.  I know they want to keep him...but when you're working with 4 relievers and two veterans who need to be in mop-up duty at best, you just can't carry a guy you're going to use once every two weeks.

I'd agree about Bowden.  His minor league record is pretty good.  Put him out there and see what he can do.

BTW why the hell do pitchers try to field balls like that???

Don't know that I've ever seen a play like that before.  Bouncer to the right side of the infield that would go right to Cardenas, but Camp deflects it towards first base.  With the shift on, Castro comes flying across the infield and flips the ball from his glove to LaHair's glove from maybe 20 feet away.  A ball hit directly to the spot where Castro fielded it may have been the first baseman's ball with a normal defensive alignment.
