Wood and Marmol are now a combined 0-3 with 3 blown saves in 20 combined appearances.  And that doesn't even count the game that got Marmol demoted from closing where he did all the dirty work, but the blown save was officially charged to Dolis.

You know if the Cubs had a few good relievers and another hitter or two (paging Anthony Rizzo), this team might be looking pretty good considering how strong Dempster, Garza, and Samardzija have been.

It's still kind of regrettable we didn't throw $1-2 million at a Chad Qualls caliber reliever or two.

As frustrating as it is to see this game pissed away by stubborn bullpen management, the Cubs could end up with a 4-2 homestand against 2 of the 4 best teams in the NL so far if Maholm can beat Hudson tomorrow.

I hate the Wood glove throw more than losing the game.  Hate seeing a class act, a fan favorite, and one of my "heroes" getting that frustrated.

Soriano was 6-35 against Hudson two days ago too.  Seems like Sveum would've played him in game 1 if he knew he was going to rest him in game 3.

I find it hysterical that our Alfie has become a defensive asset and a hitting liability.  Who would have ever seen that coming?  I'm sure reality will ensue shortly.

Alfie is hitting .305 so far in May.  The bat might be starting to heat up a little bit.

Actually if you go back to April 24, Soriano is hitting .318 with 5 doubles among his 14 hits in 44 AB.

Oh, I know.  Several of us fans in my geographical area have been ecstatic about his hitting, but you still hear "if he's not hitting homers, he's a waste."  Right?
