Seriously, and I've posed this before, I've been of the view that--under previous leadership regime--Soriano had some kind of understanding with management that to protect his bad legs/knees he could take it a bit easy on certain kind of plays and base running situations. At one point, he was valuable enough that it wasn't worth an injury that could be avoided. Not true under current regime and standing. Just a guess.
