Of course, you always have to wonder how much rust Bowden has to work off from not pitching hardly at all.  I mean, he's made 3 appearances since April 10 at any level.

And the real disaster is bringing in Marmol to begin with.  He got crushed again.

Dude, you're really not that cool, and you're driving a Civic.

Yeah I say put Marmol on the DL, regardless of how badly he's "hurt", and bring up any random pitcher from Iowa.  They can't be any worse than the guys not named Camp, Russell, and Dolis right now.

Yep, I agree.  Bowden pitches like he's aiming darts.

I think you give Marmol Tommy John surgery.  Whether he needs it or not.

Honestly, I don't know why Trey McNutt is still trying to be a starting pitcher.  Go ahead and admit he's a reliever and get him acclimated to relieving where he might can help this bullpen in the next month or so.

Actually they probably ought to think about just plain calling McNutt up right now and seeing what he can do.

And maybe DFA Castillo or Bowden and bring Maine up.

Way too much joviality after the grand slam.  You don't win the game in the top of the seventh, as the Cubs have proven tonight.

Oh I think we all knew Marmol was perfectly capable of blowing it after we settled down from the excitement of the grand slam.

I think it's too quick to give up on Bowden.  Again, this was his fourth appearance in the last month.  Expecting him to be especially sharp probably isn't realistic, and he was fine before today.

Marmol was a bigger problem than Bowden, period.  Nyjer Morgan--a guy with 8 career home runs--hit one to the wall.  Weeks walked, but the umpire decided to be charitable and called him out.  Braun walked.  Ramirez doubled, but it was less than 6 inches from a homer.  He got crushed.

That was a situation worthy of bringing in one of the three real relievers.  Give Bowden the 8th with nobody on and a three-run lead.

Leadoff walk to Cesar Izturis.  That should be a huge fine.

The Cubs must have the worst bunt defense in the league.  I can't remember the last routine sacrifice bunt against them.
