Brutal.  Non-bunter, trying to bunt.  Pitcher can't throw strikes.  Just awful managing, Sveum.  Terrible.

That was some kind of horrible.

I don't like bunting there at all.

If you are going to bunt there, you have to pinch run for you catcher.

Wow, that was unbelievably good positioning by Ishikawa on Reed's grounder.

I just can't believe that.  Double, ball, ball, ball, strike, ball, ball, ball...and you're still trying to give away an out?  The Cubs deserve to lose after that.

Seems like one of the real advances in baseball recently has been in infield positioning.  Seems like I've seen more grounders that used to go through but have been fielded by players perfectly positioned for that hitter than I ever remember.

Stupid sacrifice bunt ruins the inning.  What a surprise.

They're giving away baserunners, and we're giving away outs.

facepalm

Second time tonight they've walked Izturis to lead off an inning.  That's just unbelievable.

Not to be too hard on Dolis, but in a perfect world, he's a guy who really ought to be a 6th or 7th inning pitcher or your "down by 2-3 runs" reliever at this point in his career.  When you have an 5:11 strikeout to walk ratio, you don't really need to be pitching key innings.

He definitely can't be one of your closers at this point.

I guess Sveum has just decided it's Dolis or bust this inning.  Wood must not be available, and he's not going to go to Castillo.

At least Ishikawa gave away an out on a 3-1 pitch to a reliever who's clearly laboring.
