If Brewers stick to normal sequence, Cubs should see Gasser, Mis, and Henderson.  I'd kinda love to win tomorrow with Holmes, while we have the pitching edge.  Tuesday and Wednesday we won't.

Desperately need this Zeferjahn for the rest of the season to have any shot.

Holmes not sharp today, some pitches missing pretty far.  Down 3-2 in the 5th.  Walked the guy who scored the second run.  Gave up a HR in the 4th, then another one except Taylor jumped perfectly and reached well above the fence to steal it.

Interesting situation in 5th, ump made a bad call on an obviously low pitch, Kelly almost immediately challenged, but ump didn't allow the challenge because the dugout yellowed.  Kelly was very quick to the challenge, so it's not like he was actually responding to dugout input or anything.

Holmes in fast trouble again, walks the 8th hitter to lead off the 5th, hard single.  Walks the bases loaded, he's pitching behind everybody, a lot of fastballs aren't even close.  Weird.

7-3 Marlins.  All three of his walks and his HBP have scored.  Caissie hit a rocket bouncer, ver hard hit, could have been a DP, but Busch kinda whiffed on it.  Very hard hit, but Cubs defense has so often made those plays, almost surprising when Busch didn't.

Palencia didn't give anything up but his velocity was way down. He's not right, whatever the reason is.

1-1 after 5.  Will be a bullpen game.  Boyd has been really good, but gave up a sharp groundball single leading off 5th, then a bunt and a line single by a lefty.

Cubs HR by Ramirez, Gasser is done.  Cubs have had some chances.  In 4th, Taylor hit a long, deep one-out double, I thought for sure Bregman would score; but Bregman obviously is pretty slow, and didn't read it super well, and took a long time to start running, so Berry held him at 3rd.  Then Hoerner with right side wide open was in dead pull mode and hit a quick bouncer right at pulled-in infielder and Bregman was out by 40 feet, and then Shaw whiffed.  In 5th, had couple of guys on, but Bregman popped out.  So some missed opportunities.  Brewers got like one opportunity, and of course got a hit and cashed in.

Nico some bad AB's.  Really bad one in the 4th, now in 6th he whiffs on a pitch well off the plate, but he kinda wasted a couple of pretty fat pitches.  Bummer.

Didn't he also get thrown out trying to steal third with two outs (a couple of games ago)?

Brewers make two highlight catches in the 9th, finding another way to win.

Cubs walk three in the 8th, creating runs.  Bummer, Boyd had been sharp all day, but got ahead like 1-2 on the #8 hitter, then nibbled around and walked him.  Boyd with a crucial walk, Zeferjahn with a crucial walk, then Webb came in and walked another to push the 4th run to 3b to score on a sac.  Just too many walks.

The Brewers have been so good, but have never won a world series.  Perhaps that changes this year.
