What I kinda have in my head is if we have a reserve you could move that guy into your lineup say on Monday and he’d be in the lineup until Monday unless he got demoted or hurt. The rest of the moves would be like CBS. Does that kinda make sense. I really don’t enjoy the daily move leagues.

I don't want daily roster edits if we go with reserves and would limit that to 1 change per week. DL/minor/add-drops could be daily or we could limit it to weekly. Add/drops would stay limited.
Points to keep it similar to CBS
I'd like to keep it similar to CBS, but that is up to what people want to do. We could keep in MLB or NL.

Answers: 1. You have him as a Utility player, so you won't have the option to DL him when he is sent out to pitch. 2. I don't think Lorenzen is OF eligible in CBS format. 3. Once Ohtani is pitching, you must decide whether he is a player or a pitcher. At that time we would have to see what corresponding moves were available and legal.

I have a question on Ohtani rules for the circle.
1.) MLB is allowing him to go on a rehab assignment to pitch, but he will remain on the Angles roster during this time. I'd like to just be able to keep on my roster and not have to make a bunch of 1 day moves until he is ready to pitch.
2.) Michael Lorenzen had 30 games in the OF last year, will he be OF eligible in this coming year? If he is when Ohtani starts to pitch can I swap him and Ohtani on my roster without it counting as a move?

It might be easier to just put everything in the BBFL that way the non-fantasy players don't need to be bothered with it.
If you registered for Fantrax and don't want to play just let me now and I can delete your team, once we get an idea of how many people want to do both we can come up with the rules. I'd like to keep in close enough to the CBS league so that we can test stuff out. I already know how the keeper stuff works so if people want to do a whole new league we can do that too.

The original idea was to use the CBS teams to have a better idea of what any difference might make, but Fantrax people may decide to draft from scratch.

Nothing is set. We can keep the 15 move limit if that is what people want. The keepers are also not set if people want more keepers that is ok with me these are just suggestions.

Yes, you can opt out, because nobody is forced in. Joe and I figure if 8 or more owners are willing to do the experiment, it will be successful.
I would point out that YOU have an opportunity to help Joe and the others who wish to do the Fantax league to set the rules. How do you complain about rules that haven't been made yet?
Time? Yes, I know people have lives, but the Fantax league, if neglected, costs you nothing. I am opposed to too many roster moves too, but now is the time to address that.

What I was kinda think for the Fantrax league
-Only 6-7 keepers with the 5 minor leaguers
-Decreasing strike outs to -0.5 for hitters
-Changing the second catcher to a utility player
- Possibly adding bench spots if we have to contract teams. I kinda like having everybody score.
-Teams being able to make their own roster moves and seeing how the waiver wire works. This would mean minor leaguers would be eligible from when they were called up and not after they play.
-Possibly elminating the 15 moves per team/year since teams will be able to make their own moves. To counter act adding constantly non DL moves would move you down the waiver wire.
I’m open to other suggestions.

I'm late getting in on this, but I'll vote for Fantrax.

Guys, Joe and I have come up with an idea. Since moving to Fantrax has approval but the sentiment is not overwhelming, we have an idea that could bring into play something we've argued about many times: the number of keepers.
For at least one more year, keep our league at CBS. Same rules, same price, same draft in March.
But since Fantrax is free, we could take advantage of that by having as many owners who were willing to go to Fantrax, take their current teams but reduce to something like 5 or 8 keepers instead of 13 as an experiment.
At the end of the year, owners would have a better idea of what they liked or disliked about the difference.
Fantrax would have a different "Circle" of administrators.
If we then shift to Fantrax for 2021, it would be the CBS team that would move over. If some people liked the 2020 Fantrax team, Doc informs me that you can be in more than one league at Fantrax so we work on that when the time was right.

I never got to try the waiver wire, but I think it is from call up not the first AB. I do know that the waiver order is customizable and I think able to be viewed by others.
You were set up as a commissioner. Did you have the commissioner tab?

I had a bit of look around Fantrax, but couldn't confirm whether some of the quirky stuff (waiver time - does it start from first at bat/pitch or when the player is called up?) can be programmed in to make life easier? Other than that, I think Fantrax looks less cumbersome for our rules, though I couldn't work out how to modify settings - not sure if I was set as a commish or not...

I am fine w fantrax. I. Inna dynasty league on that format, their player database is very deep. If it's easier for the commissioners I'm all for it. Also, they have similar stat active player issues.. but they resolve within 24 hours usually. Can tweet at them and have it fixed asap.

Because I'm an old codger set in his ways, I vote to stay at CBS.
Having survived the Trib Boards to World Crossing to CreateaForum trek, I have rather enjoyed the stability of having the leagues at CBS.
$11-$12 is a pittance for 6 months of league play. My younger brother is in one that costs $150 to get into.
I told him he should just join a free ESPN league and spend that money on my Christmas present...

Concerning Will Smith: Sounds like Will Smith told teams he was going to accept the QO too if he didn't get an acceptable offer by today so the Braves jumped.
That means I'm wrong. I thought that guys couldn't sign with anyone until they declined their QO.

Anybody with a QO is not truly a FA yet. He has to decline the QO first. Anybody without a QO is a free agent from the get go, everybody is a FA after tonight.

For those wondering about Fantrax vs CBS.
Fantrax
1.) The site is much easier to navigate
2.) Draft picks are included in trades, so it makes it much easier to keep track of things.
3.) I think the free version would have everything we need, even if we go the paid route it will be cheaper than CBS.
4.) I ported over all the history of league winners.
5.) The scoring seems to be work just fine.
6.) There isn't an app for your phone, but you can create an app that is basically a link to the mobile site. I wasn't able to figure out how to do transactions from it.
7.) I think the waiver system can be done from the league page. It will keep track of the waiver wire order and transactions. A circle member would have to update the number of transactions as DL/Minor league moves get counted.
8.) I think that Fantrax would allow for guys that want to make moves to do it and take some pressure off the circle members. They deserve a big thanks, because let me tell you guys make a lot of moves and it is hard to keep up with it. Those that want to let circle members still be in control of rosters can have that option as well.
9.) If you want to make the move over let me know and I'll get the last few weeks of roster moves updated and point totals adjusted to match the standings at CBS.
10.) The keeper system is amazing. Each team/circle marks the 13 players+ minor leaguers you want to keep and then 1 button is pressed and the rest are released.
11.) If you have any other questions let me know and I'll try my best to answer them.
Edits: It also has a league treasurer feature so that we wouldn't have to send money to Curt anymore as well.

White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Done for season

Giolito won't pitch again this season after being diagnosed with a mild lat strain, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Giolito evidently picked up the injury during his last start Thursday against Kansas City, and as a result, he'll be shut down for the last few weeks of the 2019 campaign. Ross Detwiler will start for Giolito on Tuesday in Minnesota.
The Brats place Lucas Giolito on the IL and activate Brandon Woodruff from the IL to replace.

Angels' Mike Trout: Needs surgery, out for season

Trout (toe) is scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery later this week to remove the Morton's neuroma in his right foot.
After being shut down for more than a week with the toe injury, Trout was hopeful to return to the lineup Sunday against the Rangers, but those plans were nixed when he continued to experience pain during an on-field workout. Trout, who previously underwent a minor procedure a few days ago on his toe, will presumably undergo a more complex surgery to rid himself of the issue once and for all. The Angels won't have a timeline for Trout's return to action until after surgery is completed, but it seems highly likely that his season is over. Assuming that's the case, he'll wrap up another MVP-worthy campaign with a .291/.438/.645 slash line, a career-high 45 home runs, 104 RBI, 110 runs and 11 steals in 134 games.

Hiura’s case is an odd one...one I don’t think we have encountered in the history of the league.
Even though he wasn’t quite ready to play, the Brewers went ahead and activated him when his 10 day were up because, well...why not? They obviously had the roster space.
It may be moot...I’ve seen reports that he will be ready Tuesday...at least I’m hoping he is! My money team needs him back!

"Replaced" in this case means someone else in their system was brought up to the team to take his roster spot. You are correct that once we are in December IL's and family leaves are hard to do because MLB rosters are already swollen. It's the breaks. Fortunately these are normally short term.

Hey Dave, I thought he had been up for two days when I posted the results, but i admit I didn't count it down to the exact time. I had been receiving claims on Kimbrel for days, and thought I had waited the prescribed time. I am usually accused of being too slow so I guess I can't win! If there is a grievance from the two higher guys on the wire I am happy to listen, but in my experience almost all claims come in well before the deadline.
