I've been advocating for Wilkerson for a long time.Simple swaps in the 1st will not get it done,but,there are so many creative ways to satisfy the Jets without giving up the farm.Swap picks in the 2nd round which would basically be worth a mid 3rd round pick. Give N.Y. our 1st for their 2nd and Wilkerson.That would be equal to giving up a mid round 1st. My point is Wilkerson is better than any 3/4 DE coming out of this draft and probably woth our 1st even up although I would fight to get the compensation lessoned.
I would think a deaL the Jets would accept is a trade of our #1 for Wilkerson and their 2nd rounder.I just don't like any of the options at DL we will have with our #11. Unless Buckner is there which looks unlikely I would grab Hargreaves (CB),Conklin (OT) or trade down.
I think I would take swaps in the 1st and 2nd for Wilkerson but that's about the extent of my giving ability. We need all the picks w can get. And I don't want a tradedown below the Jets at #20. You can still get a very good player at #20. You might even get a Conklin at #20 or a Paxton Lynch at 20. But if I am Pace I don't part with #11 for Wilkerson. Even say #20 the Bears could take Butler there if they didn't get Wilkerson in a deal. Say the Jets wanted #11 to take Lynch and were willing to give us #20 and their 2, I would do that.
