I kinda expect a loss in the last game of the season to the Lions. I see we are virtually tied with the Vikings at 8-6 and the Vikings have the tie breaker having beat the Bears twice. If the Queens split their 2 remaining games as I expect the Bears will that should seal Lovie's firing.  Personally I'd like to see the Bears lose the last two to finish 8-8.

It's pretty simple really.  This team has some serious problems with its culture, which was most glaringly on display in the pathetic sequence at the end of the first half and the total lack of effort shown on our final possession of the game.

This is a team that walks and talks tough as long as the breaks are going their way but as soon as things turn on them they completely implode.  Emery needs to bring in some coaches who can do a 180 on that culture, ingrain some mental toughness into these players and teach them how to WIN and finish strong rather than just barely hang on and hope the other team blows it at the end.  He also needs to bring in more players that have enough talent to win their individul matchups more often than not, and with the basic game instincts and intelligence to carry out today's offensive and defensive gameplans capably.

Other than that we're just fine.

I dont know of any coordinators who fit those qualifications. You know the Bears arent going to pay Lovie and Cowher (or name your choice) to coach next year.

Smartest thing we could do is have Cutler and Marshall sit out the rest of the year.

That would help them get a headstart on healing (physically and emotionally) from this disaster of a season, and would also virtually ensure we lose the last two games to get a better draft pick.

I can so easily see Marshall blowing out a knee in the 4th quarter of a Lions game that means absolutely nothing to either team.

Of course, because resting them would be the smart thing, it's something Lovie will never do.

Yup.  They'll fire Tice as window dressing for the fans and then replace him with some no-name OC who's even worse cause he's the only guy that will take the gig with a lame duck HC.

Not much mention of Forte. Unless he has a wide open hole, the guy gets nothing. It's almost as if his vision is lost. You mean to tell me we can't get in the endzone with a 1st and goal from the 5? I was fine with running it 3 times, I mean come on, we do have an "elite" back, right?

Marshall put it straight out on the line in his postgame presser...  he said people aren't being held to task for not doing their jobs.  I believe he used the word "accountablity" 2 or 3 times.  That's what a lot of us have been seeing a lack of for a long time and it's refreshing to hear a player break ranks, respect the intelligence of the fans and cop to what's really going on rather than just to parrot the company line of BS.

Might get him in hot water with Lovie but if we all get our wish then Lovie will only be Marshall's HC for 2 more games so I would expect us to see more of Marshall speaking his mind if our final 2 games go as poorly as these last two have.

Marshall cares.  I hope he is a Bear for a long time.

He is by far our best player on the entire team and it is not even close!  Fire Lovie the day the season ends. 

I would be all for Gruden.  We need an offensive minded coach who can get the players fired up.  Years of the wooden indian have drained the life from this team.

I love to see the passion Marshall has.  If we had 53 guys with that much passion we would be doing a lot better.  And seeing Cutler get upset isnt a problem either.  Hester and Jeffery with zero catches, that is criminal.

I think Forte is gutting out a very bad ankle injury.  He hurt it against Green bay and came back to soon then re-injured it.  Hard to break tackles if you can not push off of your ankle.

Short yardage running is not his best attribute but he is a better RB then we have seen this year.

Yeah the article says Marshall basically had to cut the questioning short cause he started getting so emotional about this loss.  One thing that's really got to be gettting to him is that he's being going to bat in public for Alshon and Hester all year long and they've done almost nothing to back up his confidence.

Fact of the matter is that Cutler and Marshall are the linchpins of our future for the next 3-5 years and hopefully Emery understands that and gears his decision making accordingly.  In competitiveness and talent they are head and shoulders above anyone else on our offense and at least equal to Peppers, Briggs and Tillman on D. Cutler had another terrible outing in a Packers game and Marshall was pretty much nonexistent other than the TD but make no mistake, the fact those two guys are on our roster is the only thing that makes a 1- or 2-year turnaround of this team even remotely possible. Without them we'd be looking at a 5-year rebuild easily.
