I'm guessing that unless the new HC is a promotion from within (please God not Tice or Marinelli), that the entire staff will be let go as well.

Lovie might land a gig quick with another team (Dallas comes to mind) and if they pay him then the bears are only on the hook for the difference.

Wow 2 staffs the Bears will be paying for. I am surprised they would do that.

Good decision by Emery....one of his first here. Let's hope it's someone with some credentials, like Gruden or Cowher.

remember when the bears had a chance to keep the pack out of the playoffs by beating them the last game of the season in soldier field? the bears half-asssed the game and let the pack into the playoffs.

lovie said, "we'll see them again".

remember?

A few things.  That game was played in GB and I don't buy the team was half assed in that game.   The Packers needed to win that game or they were out of the playoffs.  IF I recall the final score in that game was 10-3.  That doesn't sound "half-assed" to me.  GB was simply the better team that year and won the Super Bowl.

Of course Ditka is ticked. He was in the same boat and didn't like it, either. You don't produce, you get fired.....plain and simple logic....

Why would Ditka be p**ssed about Lovie getting fired?

I think he'd be more upset about losing to the Packers the last 5 games straight.

Yep...can we finally put that  "cheap McCaskey" label to rest?

Because Lovie needed another 9 years to get the job done, Yapp! Doncha know a thing??! It was 'right around the corner'! We were 'almost there'! The offense 'was just waiting to break out'! C'mon!

Brad Biggs claim Hester is going to retire.  That should make the majority of you guys happy.

If he does not have the passion for the game then he should retire.  He sure showed nothing this season that makes me think he wanted to be out there.

His head was not in it all year.
