That's a wonderful story. However, that Congressman Thornberry  needs to go. A facebook apology is the best he could do? That's pathetic.

I was always taught to respect my elders,
but it keeps getting harder to find one.

That story was awesome and upsetting at the same time.

Here she is thinking for 60 years or so that the guy is maybe in some unmarked grave forgotten by everyone except her and close family.  Then to find out he has been celebrated and revered by a whole city since his death.

Wow...

A lesson in irony.

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of
Agriculture, is actually proud of the fact it is distributing the greatest
amount of free meals and food stamps ever.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S.
Department of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals."
Their stated reason for the policy is because the animals will grow
dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.

This ends today's lesson.

Packrat, speaking of irony, I always thought it ironic that the democratic party which has a lot atheist support which you know supports theories like evolution, darwinism, survival of the fittest yet they want to give free food and medicine to the "weakest" of society. Many of the same folks will volunteer and raise money for their favorite animal rescue but yet have no issue putting unborn babies to death.

Yeah, Nav, it's like assuming that the democrat party line contained some sane thinking.

 I look back at the post I made ... 06-29-12 ...

My best friend died on ... 07-01-12.

 Aint that some weird shiiit?

His memorial was at the VFW hall in Quartz Hill, California.

129 Harley-Davidsons started their engines and revved them at the same time to honor him.

 The sound was deafining.

He was that good of a man.

 R.I.P. BRO ... RIDE ON HIGH !!

It's good to be alive today!

While I was with my daughter at cheer practice yesterday our building got demolished by a tornado or microburst.  They don't know what to classify it yet.  We were inside as it caved in.  Luckily we got all the kids into the dance room that was a little more sound then the rest of the structure.

http://blogs.fredericksburg.com/newsdesk/2012/07/08/possible-tornado-hits-four-mile-fork-area-collapses-two-buildings/

All kinds of pictures on facebook as well.

Here is what is left.  As you can see the front and back of the Gym is GONE!

Here is the back side of our Gym.

Another picture of where the wall was.  YOu can see it laying inside the Gym.

Here is the roof of our gym laying on the house down the street a bit.

I knew cheerleading was dangerous, but that's one step too far.  Glad you and the kids are ok.  that's in VA?

That must be why my flight into Dulles was delayed yesterday, despite no rain having fallen...
