Not exactly.  There won't be a solution. 

In absence of a solution, don't people sometimes try to reduce a problem, even if only by a little bit? 

A little problem-reduction is better than none.  "It could be worse". 

Well typically you get people that will dig in there heels and wait for the other side to give in because they are experiencing too much pain.  One side in billionaires that typically have another source of income.  The other side is millionaire players that may not have another source of income. 

The MLB player union has been successful by driving a wedge between big and small market clubs.  Now the majority of big and small market clubs are on the same side saying they can't compete with the Dodgers and Mets.  You can't drive a wedge in between that.  The MLB players union also gave in and focused on quality of life issues and the owners took them to the cleaners.  The players are going to want a win.  This only ends in pain.
