I mean, that was the whole purpose of the P positions…for RPs when they make opener starts…

No, it was to prevent people from leaving pitchers who were atarting, not just opening, at rp for extended periods, like Assad or Rea.  An rp who opens is a waste of fantasy concern.  He can't get a W.  He can't get a QS.  As a matter of fact, he can only earn an L.  I think our best options, frankly, is to ignore them.

1 start.  There would be 54 relievers needed.  There are plenty of my of closers, closer committees,’set up men for this.  If you want a SP/RP there are 8 spots for those players.

Still don't believe the intent was to screw over our owners.  Sorry.  It was designed to keep owners from screwing over others by leaving SP's in the RP slots.

DDK's activate Daniel Palencia from the IL, drop Morejon to make room. Also, DDK's traded 4th round pick to Logray's Baaag for a 7th rounder and Gabriel Moreno. Dropped Bo Naylor to make room for Moreno.

I guess someone needs to explain it to me like I’m 5.

We have 4 spots for starters, 4 spots for relievers, and 4 spots for guys who make appearances as both.

If one of your 4 relievers makes a start, move him to 1 of the 4 P spots, and find another reliever. There are plenty.

If you’re hesitant to drop a P who is primarily a starter (because of a perceived discrepancy in points over the season), then just cut the guy. That’s one of those hard decisions owners have to make sometimes. No one is entitled to 8 starters anyway…but if you choose to have 8, you should have 4 relievers with 0 starts…as the rule is written. JMO…

Rather explain it to s friend:

The 4/4/4 plan was to take care of guys putting SPs at RP until they had 3 starts and conveniently forgetting to move them
I didn't vote for it to penalize and force.moves on owners because a true RP opened a game.  He wasn't considered a starter by anyone.
We are bickering over what? One point if he gets a K?
If you want, call for a vote, and if more people agree with you. I'll drop out of the league, and you can take over again.  At my age this isn't worth the stress because some MLB msnager doesn't understand our rules.  LOL

The intent was to keep pitchers that flip between starter and reliever from being in a reliever spot and forcing Curt and Iowa to look to get every roster to see when guys would go over 3.

It wasn’t intended for a closer, who made 1 start because he was going on paternity leave, from being a relief pitcher.

Closers are hard to come by as is.  I thnk that it is a fair decision and will benefit all owners in the future from having a weird situation mess with them. Reliever scoring should be addressed at some point.

Then why did you answer with “one” when I asked? It seems like this new “rule” actually changed nothing. I asked questions when it was first proposed because it was vague, and needed more detail. Now, it’s just shit.
