That still means he gets 2 more and has to move, right?

Everything I’ve seen since the rule change is that it’s one start and that’s it.

Please tell me you’ve been watching Kilian a while…at least before deeg’s post.

I’ve been watching him since the draft ended…letting him ripen…if Deeg brought him to your attention, I’m gonna be pissed…

He's one of two guys I was watchting.  Deeg posting did probably get me more motivated to make a move though.

I thought it was one and done? I’d have to go back and look to confirm, though…

Yeah method just ran into this a few days ago with Grant Taylor too and had to move him after his first start.

Again, I'm not a big fan of that and wish there might be a way to clearly demonstrate when someone's just being used as a 1-2 inning opener while also making life easy on the commishes, but those are the rules that we're under at the moment.  Hate bringing it up but better to bring it up now before it becomes a problem at some other point.

Let me talk to Curt.

Fairbanks only started because his wife was induced and the game was delayed.  He is the closer and it seems like it is a one time deal.

Taylor has intentions of returning to the starting rotation and had a bunch of opener starts last year, he's the type of pitcher that the rule was put in place for.  It would be different if you had Wrobeleski in a relief role like you did at the start of the season.

Oh yeah honestly I'd like it if there's an avenue that gets Fairbanks to stay at RP, and if it's available to any other owner, that'd be great.  Fairbanks should be an RP in the league.

But I'd be lying if I didn't say I'd be wondering what would be happening if this had been Devin Williams or Ryan Helsley.  Or if one of those guys gets a weird instance where they get two openers later this year.  It'd at least good that we all can rest a little easier if one of our main closers somehow winds up with a fluke opener start at some point.

This rule is still at BBFL.  If it was changed, I usually go in immediately and alter it.  I'm getting senile so I might have missed it.  Was it just an idea or did we actually vote on it?  I think disallowing a player from RP status because of one start is rather drastic.

ii.  Any pitcher that has started 3 games in a season is an SP.  If used as an SP in minors, must be, without appeal, an SP in MLB

I like Joe's suggestion that Openers just not get any points.  Solves the issue.

Yeah that's wild. I have just instructed my pitchers not to have any children so they don't lose points. Happy to take a zero for that start, not sure he had many points anyway. Strange situation indeed.

Good thing you dropped Muncy.  :)
