The entire outfield should've been playing further in. Not only can Rivas not hit, he has 9 career extra-base hits in 289 at-bats. If PCA is 10 feet closer he catches that.
There's no way he catches that unless he's effectively playing as a 5th infielder. But he did come up ready to try and get a force at 2B if anyone had been covering (they weren't).
