Tucker waited until coming to Wrigley to play at a high level.

Definitely enjoying seeing Assad very much holding his own against Skubal through 5.

You know, it's funny how the Cubs keep finding ways to take Assad out of the rotation when all he ever does is pretty much produce.

Tucker should have caught that ball. Not an error but definitely playable.

Oh, we do have him lol. But he threw 30 pitches on Sunday. If we get there, does he close?

I think he does.  He was starting to close for the Angels, right?

Has a hitter ever advanced in his approach more in one season than PCA?

If the media cared about teams not in LA or on the East Coast, PCA might really have a shot at the MVP.

Zeferjahn a bust, no Ks.

What makes him tough is the cut on the fastball at 97. The sweeper is obviously a cartoon pitch when it's right but he gets in trouble with it occasionally. He'll also make hitters look ridiculous with it (as he did Shohei). But's it's the 4-seamer that makes him unique. If he doesn't walk guys he's obviously good.

Seems like Hottovy ought to be telling him he has the best defense in the league behind him, so he doesn’t have to go all out trying to strike everyone out either.

I want my closer missing bats, sorry.

I do like the idea of having Brown, Shelby Miller, Palencia and Zeferjahn to finish games. One can dream.

Hoerner demonstrating the two diametrically opposite ways to get an RBI.
