Smart move by Emery to lock up a punter on a future contract. Also saves a draft pick. And the RB could be a ST player.

Did McCown outplay Cutler this season? Yes, he did. Don't care about Aaron Rodgers nor the Packers obsession with some people here. I care about winning games for the Chicago Bears.

Has Cutler outplayed McCown over his career?  Yes he did. 

Will McCown get a 100+ million contract this year?  Don't think so.

Will McCown get offered a contract over 10 million for next year?  Don't think so.

Will McCown have a starting job next year?  Don't think so.

Will McCown be a backup next year?  Yes he will

Will McCown be high on other teams list for QB next year?  Don't think so.

McCown had a couple great games agains horrible defenses in a system that suits him.  Please don't think other teams can't see it too.  They are not stupid.

McCown's best bet on a contract for next year is with the Bears.

I am willing to bet that Kyle Orton will be making more money next year that Josh McCown.

I am alomost willing to bet that if McCown doesn't sign with Chicago for next year he will be back to coaching high school ball or whatever he was doing when the Bears came calling last time.

I think McCown's best bet is to sign about a 2yr deal for whatever the vet min is with playing time incentives.

A HS football coach is lucky to make 50k per year if he is also a full time teacher.
He likely made more this year than he would in the next 10+ years teaching/coaching.
